What Are The Countries Beginning With R In The World? Do You Know These Countries?

Now, it’s a tricky one! I was going through the Office of the Historian website, and I found a list of six countries beginning with R. Further, names like World Bank Group have enlisted just three names starting with the letter R. 

However, for me, the concern was something different. The WorldAtlas data has confirmed that 94 among the 195 countries worldwide start with the phase “Republic.” So, those are also countries that start with R. 

Now, a discussion of all these countries is not possible within a single guide. So, I have picked up the six countries beginning with R on the Office of the Historian website. Stay tuned! 

How Many Countries Start With The Letter R? A Summary Table

As mentioned, the Office of the Historian has mentioned six countries beginning with R. However, I have not included the Republic of Genoa in my list because Genoa was a country in the Napoleonic era. 

However, with the political turn of events, Genoa is now a city in Northwestern Italy. It is also the capital of the Liguria Region. So, as of today, five proper countries begin with R.

Despite being one of the dangerous countries in the world, the Democratic Republic of the Congo gathered all the attention with the First World Music and Tourism Festival in Kinshasa. The festival from 16th to 18th July 2025 made a successful integration of tourism and music possible in the country.
